Wireless Help

I have to find 15 wireless channels that will play well with each other for our Christmas production on our sure slx4 receivers. Each group has only 12 channels and i am hoping that someone can tell me if i can get 3 more channels from another group. I don't mind doing the leg work or homework i just don't know where to go to get the info.

We take the cop-out approach and borrow VHF units for another church any time we run out of channels.

Shure also has their wireless workbench software for coordinating. It comes with their UHF-R product but is free here: http://shure.com/ProAudio/Downloads/...oads/index.htm

If you need some help I have some software from IAS. You can download the demo. Or if you let me know your zip code, what wireless mics and frequencies blocks you have and what mics you want to add I can run the frequency coordination for you.

+1 for coordinate your frequencies. With that many radio transmitters in close proximity and all in-band, you'll have to coordinate them so that transmitters 1 and 2 don't mix and stomp on transmitter 8.

So you already have 15 channels of SLX wireless or are you renting all of them? It would seem that if you already have the systems then you would have already had to coordinate the operating frequencies while if you are renting them then the people renting them to you should be able to help. This could also potentially extend the related issues into areas such as how you are locating the antennas and distributing them to the multiple units.

Actually, that is "up to" 12 channels. Based on Shure's online Frequency Selection Guide the best you can probably do is 10 channels in band H5 and 7 channels each in bands J3 and L4 but that is based on just the available frequencies and does not account for any potential IM issues, which could reduce the number of J3 and L4 band channels that can be used if you use the 10 H5 band channels.

Have you tried contacting Shure? They are probably your best resource.
