I've a question about Presentation Manager Pro: It's features list says it supports Power Point, but doesn't say anywhere that it has it's own built in way to deal with graphics only, or text over graphics when they aren't a lyric or from the Bible. Or video, for that matter.

I have absolutely NO interest in any software for presentation that uses Power Point for text - because I only want to train people in one piece of software.

So ... does it deal with video, graphic, or text sans PowerPoint?

I also couldn't tell how it saved the songs.

I like to know what's out there, and couldn't find a demo to download anywhere.

Thanks,
deb

The demo download of Presentation Manager Pro is available here. I haven't tried it recently myself, so I can't answer your questions.

I have a master kiosk ppt announcement program that I run before 1st service and between first and second. I make each new week's on the past week and then save under a new name. Today I wanted to make another ppt that would kiosk during the prelude. I could NOT make it kiosk. And, if I happened to have EW up during that time the whole computer would freeze up. I tried and tried to make it work. Finally I went to an "old week" of announcements and inserted my slides into it and things worked just fine. I don't know what or where the problem lies. I checked and it looks like all my commands under "create slide show" are the same. I don't realize I have a problem until I go to rehearse my timings. Then I find the computer frozen...I'm thinking if EW is turned off I don't hafta completely reboot. So, I hear your pain.

I actually create two slide shows each week.
The one that kiosks and then another one that doesn't. I call it "mini announcements". When the announcements for the week are made and/or joys or concerns I can quickly beam them up on the screen. I keep the standard ones: UMM monthly breakfast, UMW circle meetings, etc. Over time they have learned to recognize "their" pic, i.e., I use a certain Eye Drop (George Walker) pic for the UMW, each circle has their own Eye Drop pic, the weekly schedule has its own, etc.

I know the second service REALLY likes the rolling announcements. They come in early and watch it...like the movie newsreel. And, I get lots of compliments on the pics I use. First service people are notoriously late for church. So, only a few people watch "the show".

running two things at once

We do scrolling announcements on one tv screen in our lobby and our EW schedule in the sanctuary. Do you think we can run both from one computer? Right now we are using another computer to run the scrolling ones but have to go to the electrical room to turn it on.

if you mean two different playbacks at the same time, I'd say not a good idea-you want error free, and hands off-personally I think that might be asking for trouble.

You could though burn a dvd and use that for the lobby feed, running from a dvd player instead...

Have you given a look at Proclaim the new cloud-based church presentation software?

Songshow has this feature now. I haven't tried it yet as I don't have enough video outputs or screens.
