Worship Software Review

Len and I finished up a worship software review for Technologies for Worship Magazine last week with the help of several CMNers, and it looks like they've published it online. I thought someone here might find the info useful.

Thanks to Joel Osborn (osborn4), Phil Graves (skstarkiller), Randy Anderson (Randy Anderson), and Bill Aumack (downeyflo), and Tim Eason (Tim Eason), for all of the comments, polls and insights offered.

Here's the link:

We contacted EasyWorship before the review and they told us it was coming. We were originally told that this article wouldn't be published until May, so you're getting the scoop early! Consider it insider info. Just don't buy their stock, or you could end up in Martha Stewart's shoes.

It's a good magazine. They've been around a long time.

By the way...I can't edit my post from above but I committed one of my own pet peeves. I used "they're" instead of "their". That drives me nuts, and I can't believe I did it! I guess I was going too fast with the fingers.

Yeah, I used to write all of the WS reviews. Now that the old man is out of commission you're moving in on my territory, huh? (WAY kidding)

Moving in on your territory? I guess so. Soon they'll be calling us the "Grand Uncles of Media Ministry".

It's actually kind of funn. They called us and asked for a review. When Len told me I was like, "How are we going to review PC software?". The only PC in our two homes is a dedicated arcade machine. We decided to turn it into more of a buyers guide using our friends' opinions, some web research, and a few calls to the software companies. We didn't even get any free NFR software out of the deal!

I want to review a projector and get a NFR unit to try out (and keep) . Len and I would fight over that one.

Thanks for editing my error!

LOL -- Getting NFR items like that are few and far between. I've only had a few pieces of hardware given to me in the 6 years or so of reviewing stuff and they were very special circumstances. Most hardware manufacturers won't let you keep the stuff for two reasons 1) (obviously) is money and 2) they feel like the review would be compromised if you were "bribed" with the equipment.

I was actually surprised that you reviewed something, though. You guys usually do the "higher thinking" articles and grunts like me do the lowly reviews. But... I'm out of the writing business, so if I could choose anyone to review stuff I guess it would be the MO boys!

Hey, I programmed in a short-cut for that long URL in the article. I'll email you, Len and Kevin about it. Also, the URL at TFWM's website includes the ending period, which gives you a "page not found", of course.

The shortcut URL is http://ChurchMedia.net/go/wspoll
