Not sure that your list is completely accurate, but -- hey -- marketing is everything. Why do you think we have so much popular, awful music out there? Apple almost died because of their marketing practices and proprietary nature (they didn't learn Amiga's lesson). In fact, didn't MS help bail out Apple to keep them in the competition circle? I just don't understand hostility toward MS. They sure have made my life a lot easier and I was able to achieve my ambitions because I could afford their products as opposed to Apple, which was always out of my price range. I owe a lot to Microsoft's approach... including building a site called ChurchMedia.net. Everything you see here was built on a PC (although it's hosted on a Linux system, which is the only way to go for websites ). It would NOT have happened if it wasn't for MS.

People are goofy... I'm goofy... I hate Walmart and think they make MS's monopoly look like a joke, but I still shop at Walmart...
Agreed. I think the only two logical reasons that I get somewhat hostile towards Microsoft is 1. I am surrounded by pc's (literally) and 2. viruses/trojans/spyware/adware/underwear?/and now rootkits. But if you went back to the olden days the first virus was written for a mac! From there mac's were hit about a million billion times a day.

I've actually become quite fond of XP, and from what I am seeing so far of W7 I just may be just as satisfied if not more.

Can I set up a dual boot of Vista Home Premium 32 bit and Windows 7 in either 32 or 64 bit? It would be nice to be able to go back and forth then just update or delete 7 when it expires.

Back to topic...

Just to let you guys know, I read recently either on Engadget or Gizmodo that you'll probably want to disable the hibernation feature. Several users have reported problems with the computer not coming out of standby and having to unplug the system or reboot several times before getting it back up. That's one reason I haven't installed just yet. I was planning on dual booting it on my XP system, but I can't afford to be down. Trying to find another computer in the office I can play with.

particularly watch it with ati cards (all I own right now, at least for memory levels of 128 MB or more for video cards), and some seagate hard drives (that's an internal flashing issue, leading to data loss-but it could be driving some of the bug reports of bricked installs....).
