Website feels cumbersome and needs help

Hey all,
Has been a while since I have posted but still hanging around. We are contemplating our website and the possibility of a total overhaul. I wondered if anyone would be interested or willing to give a honest, brutal honest opinion of our church website and what you would recommend or do differently. We want ease of use, functionality and something that people can find useful. I have been running Google analytics on it now for about 3 weeks and have already found some interesting info on what people go to and use. Feel free to send me an email if you choose or I will also check back here. Thanks for your time.

Mike

It feels kind of "lite" on info. I think it could use an update and some more content. I am also annoyed when a calendar or sermon player open in a new window.

I'd look at rolling to a Wordpress theme. It GREATLY eases the web site maintenance and updating, making it much easier to keep content fresh.

And I'd seriously lose that first paragraph on your Connect! page. Very cynical and very defeatist. I'm sure your pastor doesn't have the same attitude about people visiting your church so why convey that attitude when they visit your web site?

I don't know much on the technical side of websites, but yours only uses about a quarter of my screen real estate which seems like a waste. I agree with Phil about updating content. The latest sermon video is from 3 Sundays ago and when clicked gives me "Sorry this video does not exist."
