I believe petereit's picture about shows my reaction. I second spreading things out a little bit to start.

simple yet effective: stcatherinesiena.org
People are looking for information, so arrange it so that they can tell there are separate links and it's not just one big advertisement poster like a Guitar Center ad. A simple divider line between links of two different ideas can make things look a little more organized as well.

ps if you follow my link no you're not seeing double there are currently two links to the home page from the homepage and I'm currently emailing our webmaster.

while I have to agree with the above comments regarding the cluttered look of the site. I also think it is fun and artistic. Seems to be targeted towards a younger audience, who doesn't necessarily need clearly displayed links & divider lines. And for those people who maybe aren't web savvy, you can easily get to the important information up top ("service times", "contact us")

You have plenty of blank space that can be used to spread things out a bit, which would be beneficial.

Also maybe altering some of your fonts wouldn't hurt either. I find that "one Church, three locations" is very hard to read, as well as the text below "give online" & "Need Prayer" .
"increase in everything" is hard to make out and the image above "Youth Ministry".

I agree just spreading everything out would be very beneficial. Making some images and fonts larger will help make these things easier to read and also help make the site less cluttered

i believe you have done a fantastic job with the website. a 99 kb image and then mapping it? (very creative). although i think using/adding some other colors will help to attract visitors attention. another thing you can do to make it look better is to center your image. overall, a fantastic job.
