Check out our NBC website

Yep - you saw it right. We were able to get www.nbc.org years ago. We redesigned the site about a year ago and still have big plans for it. I NEED to get the staff pics updated and about a gazillion more staff up there (we now have 2 new pastors plus about 38 other staff members - LOL) and we are working on getting a "New to NBC?" video of the Sunday service, Sunday School, deaf church, youth group, etc. But for now, I think the site is pretty well set up and it's up to date (that's MY job!). So what do you think??

I think it is a decent start, but you should try to cut down on the amount of info on the front page.

Thanks Phil. I can see that - maybe it should go on a page of "announcements" or something? We have a "What's happening" but that's the church calendar. I'll talk to hubby about that (I do content, but he does the skeleton).

I would have to agree, too much stuff on the home page. The overall layout of the text would be better if it were cleaned up it is all just little things but here it goes, and this is all just my opinion keep that in mind.

  • I would move the user login page to a link on the bar at the top
  • search box is right justified but the search header is left and it is really indented.
  • The RSS subscribe button is hanging in space
  • To many blog posts on the home page either 0 or 1 but I would not do any more
  • On sub pages.. for example the adults section you should reorganize them so that the most recent post shows up on the top.
  • Text after heading is indented too far on home page. You should indent the whole thing more... header and all but make the content less it. So #maincontent padding:0 70px 0 70px would be better and .content margin:1.5em 0px 2em 0px; You might even be able to remove this line all together.
Overall it is a decent start to customizing what appears to be a wordpress blog. Good Luck!

Thanks randyvogl I'll pass your thoughts on to my hubby who takes care of lay-out stuff.

It's actually Drupal that we're using.
