Private Podcasts

Currently our church podcasts the sermons from every service. We record the entire service but just publish the sermon. At the end of the sermon a few of our worship team members want a copy of the worship to critque themselves or just to be able to listen to it. So we burn them a CD of it.

I would like to be able to offer a private podcast of the worship so that the only people who have access to the uploads are people we give access to. This will cut down on the amount of work our soundguy is doing at the end of the service.

Any ideas on the best way to do this? Just to give you an idea of what we have in the way of our website. Our website is done with Joomla and our sermons are shared out via the SermonCast module. I could not find an area in SermonCast that allow me to setup two seperate feeds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mike

Can you set up a private area on the site that only approved members can access then go there to download an mp3? I know how to do this in Drupal. I imagine a similar option is available for Joomla

You should be able to password protect your feed. That will do the same thing and it's free. Just set a password for the directory that the feed and podcast are in and iTunes will require you to enter it.

While I can't speak to SermonCast, we're using JosDewplayer to play the MP3's (sermons) on our J! website. The extension is easy to use - it should do what you want.
