Video on Home Page

Here is our site
http://butterfieldag.com/

Here is my question, at the top of the home page you should see a video player.

Let me know if you like the functionality of it or not, please by all means be as critical as you need to be.

In the past I have just used God Tube (now Tangle...bleh) but the player is a little big and the quality not as good.

Input and alternatives please.

I like it Ryan...

No offense man, but don't you have to be a business customer to put links in your sig?

Isn't that only if you're selling something? Not sure though.

Links in sigs are ok if you aren't selling... and they point to somewhere nice that isn't selling

Found it very unreliable in Firefox 3.0.9.

Sometimes I get the player controls but no video (not even when I click the Play button).

Other times it plays, the video shows briefly, but the video content then disappears though the audio keeps playing. When I scroll the page up or down the video flickers back into life for a moment before disappearing again. There are no playback controls either, which seems quite user-hostile.

I've tried disabling my Firefox extensions and all the brower plugins except the Windows Media Player plugin, but the behaviour remains the same. Seems to work fine in Internet Explorer 7, though, including playback controls.

I confess to a dislike of pages that play audio automatically on loading (especially if there is no "stop" button...) - very strong preference for having to click a nice obvious "play" button to make something happen.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Richard

I'm running Vista. It worked perfect in Google Chrome. Firefox 3.0.1 gave error messages the first three times I tried to load the page... then finally loaded most of the content, but said I was missing needed plug-ins to play the content (since I don't usually use Firefox I didn't bother installing it). Checked Chrome again - it continues to work great there! It took IE 8.0.6001.18702 multiple tries to load the page... but once it finally loaded it worked.

I'm with hussra on content playing automatically when I visit pages. You might want to change the settings so it doesn't play automatically.

It worked fine for me (Firefox 3.0.9 on XP).

I thought about using Chrome but I really hate that it is constantly sending information back to Google.

I on the other hand love it when content plays automatically (as long as it doesn't have sound, I hate sound on web pages unless I want it).

Esoteric - Chrome gives you the option to disable that...

Ran fine in IE8 on Vista. I agree with the others...I hate autostart on music/videos/etc. First thing I do is look for the off button or mute my sound card.
