Cool I have a question and I do not know the ans

We have recently started putting the sermons on the web.

Tonight, the choir did the program, Raise the Crown, with the accompaniment CD.

I told the sound guy that I think that it would be a copyright no-no to post the performance on the web site.

Am I right, wrong and what where are the guidelines for something like this?

Thanks

I don't know the piece, or much anything choir for that matter, but the place I'd look first is your CCLI license. It should have some pretty clear wording on there. Ultimately it's in the copyright on the work, the public performance of which would be covered but most likely not a "broadcasting", which the web effectively is.

not only is there the problem of the score being copyrighted,
but also the recording (the accompaniment CD)

It's a double no.

I had looked into this a couple of months ago and after contacting someone from CCLI she suggested a service from copyrightsolver dot com. For about $1000 a year you can stream all the live music from your church service.
