Using peer to peer technology to stream audio

Hello all, I just started looking into this so I don't have too much information on it and wanted to see who might be doing this or have some info on it. Peercasting seems like it would be a pretty good idea for churches that would want to do streaming audio or video but don't have a super fast connection and don't want to get there website hammered every week. I've already done a little research involving streaming as is with multicasting our service audio around our church and uploading to our server with Windows Media Encoder. What do you guys think would be the pros and cons of either doing it with p2p software or doing a multicast?
