DIY Independent Film Promotion from Producers of 10 MPH

I found a nice article on promoting an independent film, written by the producers of 10 MPH, a documentary about riding cross country on a Segway.

http://www.10mph.com/diy/

It deals with most of the essentials, including online promotion, branding, festivals, press, DVD releases, and even a theatrical tour and digital downloads. It's a very long piece, but worth the time for those aspiring to release the next Flywheel, Facing the Giants, et al.

Note that this is NOT a how to film the movie-its about all the after stuff. A bit of editing, but mostly the process of getting it seen.

Kbob - that movie is Flywheel, not Freewheel - Not that it is important, just FYI.

Sherwood Baptist Church is working on their 3rd, now - "Fireproof" - I was able to be on the set and it was a great experience. Pray for them as they continue to film - It's 12- to 14- hour days, easy.

I should have known that-we just watched it for a movie nite at my buddy's house. I had the opportunity to watch their making of dvd as well-they got the camcorder they used, the xl 1-s, 3 days before shooting began! Whew. And yes, that was the main/only cam. Talk about making the most of what you've got.

We have so much dance, drama, video, music, and audio talent at our church, I'm thinking of challenging them to do something similar-hence my interest in this article.
