Youth Worship Highlight Video I am working on a video to drum up interest in our fledgling new youth worship service. I was curious of your thoughts on the video... http://stpeterlcms.com/church/intro.php

Really it isn't bad. However the place where you cut from say the drums to the sound board to the guitar should be on the beat of the music. Answer the questions briefly and don't restate them over and over again. You want it to be quick since this is for youth. Watch MTV or something like that for the quickness I am talking about. What is fire? Quick answer or two. Then, why do you come? Couple more answers. So on and so on with a few other question. At the end I am assuming that is the youth pastor???? Label who that is, you might even label everybody else with just a first name and something like Senior High Student. Its a good start, but in the end its not about the video its about the excitement of the youth and whether or not they will "rub off" on their friends.

A better thing you can do when cutting to music is not to cut on the beat, but on the back beat. For instance, if the beat is 1-2-3-4, then add your cuts on the & of the beat, like 1-&-2-&-3-&-4, or just before the beat. It adds a little more professionalism and flavor to the flow of the video. All in all, it's not bad. However, I do agree with brenthomer, if you can make the video say the same thing in 30-60 seconds you've done great. Think about great commercials that get the message through in such a small amount of time. Good stuff!
