Tetris ideas

I've got some ideas in my head for a series of sermons using the Tetris theme song from a group called 2PM. Its more for the youth of the church, and will probably be held on standby until we have a youth convention.

Anyway, I'm wanting to make it look like there is a game of Tetris being played, but the things that come down are material possessions and distractions in the normal block styles of actual Tetris pieces. At the end of video one I'd like for there to be a cross-shaped hole in the middle of the game field. I realize that with tetris, once an entire line has been filled up, the line is supposed to disappear, but that can be overlooked or incorporated in other ways.

That was video 1 which will ask "What's keeping YOU from completion?"

I'm still coming up with ideas, but does anyone have a good idea as to how to go about this?

I like the idea -- very clever. (Ironic though, that while this is to appeal to youth, Tetris is older than they are at venerable age of 21 ) You could do the simulated game with various video creation software. Oddly enough the limited animation of the original where pieces fall a step at a time instead of smoothly will make it a little harder to make a video that has the right feel. It might be easier to just do separate images in Photoshop or the like, and put those together in what would be stop-frame animation using video creation software.

Regardless of how you end up doing it, I'd start with laying out the final image of the Tetris board with the cross in the middle, and the various material-possesion Tetris pieces making up the area around it. Do it as a layered Photoshop file, and your life will be that much easier when it comes time to animate things.

You could actuall animate it in Photoshop and then export it as a flash file and play it via your worship software.

Assuming you've got a version of Photoshop more recent than the Pleistocene, so that it does those things

I've got CS2. So I think I can probably make an animation. What I want to do is maybe even zoom in on some of the pieces to show how they can separate us from God. When I get something put together I'll post it up so you can make suggestions. Then I'll smooth out the rough edges, and leave a copy in the MXC.
