"Our gear: Mackie SR24-4, Denon DN-C550R, DVS-204 video scaler, Canon LV-5210 (2), Hitachi CP-X260, Edirol V-4, Sony DVI-D70 (2), Pioneer DVR-640H" The cameras are the Sony DVI-D70s, which we run into the Edirol V-4. It's a relatively inexpensive setup that performs nicely, particularly in low light.

It sounds like you're a little more advanced than us, but we use one robotic Sony camera and feed it directly into a DVR with a 2 hr setting recording directly to HDD. At the end of the service I record it to the DVD and finalize. As of yet we are not distributing the video. Although we might start doing that this year sometime.

From your description, It sounds like your signal might be passing through too much equipment.

God Bless,

I haven't seen anyone reply regarding the 100ft lengths of S-Video cable. I have had very poor results in transmitting S-Video over 50ft. I would highly suggest replacing S-video cables with powered Baluns and transmit over Cat 5e. You can get up to 500ft without signal degredation. I would start there to improve the source signal.
