Simple A/B composite video switch - with no glitch

Anyone know of a cheap composite video switch that won't lose sync on the display devices? I just need to switch between two composite video sources in to a distribution amp that feeds our lobby TVs. Fading would be nice, but I'll settle for just not losing sync when switched.

I have no way to genlock the sources, so I don't think just a vertical interval switcher will work......

I think you'd need something with a couple of frame syncs built in. Probably the cheapest thing I can think of is a used videonics (mx-1 or mx-pro) or edirol v4 switcher.

The no glitch part is the hard part.

Back in the 80s, Radio Shack made a video switcher that could switch between 2 composite sources. You could fade or wipe to black; the cut would be made in black, so less of a glitch, then fade or wipe back up to the other source. We thought that was great at the time. I actually still have one, since I can't throw anything away. I know this doesn't help you very much, but I just wanted to remember the old days. Good luck!
