| Advice on DAs and Seamless Matrix Switcher I'm in the middle of an expansion of our video system, and I'm having trouble figuring out what I need. First, we have a TripleHead2Go feeding 3 screens. Right now, it runs through a cheap matrix switcher directly to the screens. We want to add a whole live camera backend to the system, for recording, broadcast, etc. and take those 3 outputs from the TH2G and put them each through their own Distribution Amp. Then one input would go to the matrix switcher like before, but another would feed into a live video mixer. The thing is, the inputs on the mixer are SDI and I believe we have the analog version of the TH2G, which means VGA. I had thought before it was DVI, so I was all set using the DVI extender from Blackmagic to take care of the conversion. My question is, should I convert to DVI before the DAs and just get DVI DAs, or should I get VGA DAs and convert to DVI after, then again to SDI? I'm also not sure of the most affordable but high-quality way to convert from VGA to DVI. The other part of my question is the Seamless Matrix switcher. Right now, the one we have is not seamless, and transitioning involves either flashes of black, or manual fade to and from black on both ends. Is a 4x4 seamless matrix switcher (DVI or VGA) affordable? Sorry for the long question, I hope I communicated the layout with some sort of clarity. EDIT: Here's a diagram, hopefully should make it more clear. ![]() |
