| JVC KH 3000U vs Panasonic HS400 I am looking to purchase one of these units in the next week or so... I can get either one for the same price so that is not an issue for me. I would like some pointers for our setup. 3 JVC GY HM790's in full studio config with ccu control. HD SDI out to switcher. I would like to monitor everything via a consumer grade 42" LCD or plasma from the multiviewer. I have propresenter 4 with alpha key module sending lower thirds and fullscreen videoclips when needed. I am sending in to projectors via VGA and into a motu device via SDI for capture. The SDI out is no problem for capture on either switcher. I would need something to go into my viewer - hdmi? Component? Please advise here. I would also need something out of the switcher to get me to VGA for my projectors. I would also like the ability to add in two more cameras in the future.... Any thoughts here? |

| Sorry the jvc switcher is the km h3000u which has 12 SDI inputs & outputs with no upgradeability and the need for SDI converters for any outputs to screens and projectors etc. The panasonic only has 4 SDI in and outs but allows for arcs to be added to bring dvi or hdmi or component in and out. I am wondering what your thoughts for latency would be with each process? Am I better off with a external device converting my signals or using builtin cards for conversion? How do I go about finding out latency issues with either scenario? Thank in advance. |
