Need Panasonic MX50 help

We're looking to buy a used Panasonic MX50 for our church. I want to do text over video for our worship using the DSK on the MX50. My question is whether I can switch between cameras while keeping the text of the slides going with the MX50. We currently have a Videonics MX1 with EasyWorship and I can only use one camera angle. If I want to switch I have to reset the entire Chroma Key.

If doing a Chroma Key on the MX50 the B bus must be the key source signal. If you are tying up the B bus that way the best you could do is "cut" between sources on the A bus.

What you are trying to do is more typically done as a downstream key. In this case you would use the EXT CAM input on the back of the switcher as the luma key source (from your computer), and your fill would have to be white or a color matte of your chosing. You would be able to cut or dissolve the backround image as well as independantly fade in or out the key that way.

If you are using, Easyworship it can easily put text over live feeds so why struggle? Watch out for the time delay if you use a firewire camera though.
