Data Video make a version of their SE-800 with all Firewire inputs and outputs (along with the normal inputs and output), and you can get firewire input and outputs cards for the SE-900. See: http://www.datavideo.us/en/products/...switchers.html

Firewire switchers can be very frustrating to work with (when all your cameras are firewire etc) because of delay that is induced from firewire.

If you just need a single channel of Firewire input, so you can play videos out of your NLE or something, then you can get a converter like the ADVC 110, or you can use a VT Deck with firewire.

If you're just looking for something to allow you to switch Firewire sources without having to unplug-plug in cables, then a firewire-capable switcher will probably do. But don't try to live-switch between firewire sources. That's just a big bag of hurt. Like Zac mentions -- the delay will have you losing your Christianity in no time.

The datavideo Se-800 works great for switching DV/firewire. I've used it for many years. As long as the cameras you are switching are all firewire, and your not using it for imag, then the delay/lag (about 3 frames) won't be an issue.

yeah..i agree with petereit & zactommo..it's very dangerous if we use firewire connection for video input when we in sunday services or event..but when we use firewire for recording it's very advantage for us. thanks for advice. God Bless..
