Is there a way to keep the chroma effect when I change the camera sources?

Unfortunately, no. The best solution to this problem is to buy a keyer, like the one we sell, and place it "downstream" on the output of the mixer.

Let me know how else I can help!

Sounds like you should maybe make the next step in your prodution and get another video mixer so you have a "Master Production Mix" and a Video Production Mix" That's what we have gone to because I was encountering the same problem - so now if have the flexibility to send anything I want to our Sanctuary projectors - Live camera, an edited video, just pwr point, etc. You might want to consider it.

We use the Videonics MX-1 Digital Video Mixer. and have just upgraded from Powerpoint to Easy Worship and use a video capture card from the camara feed and Easy worship will be text over any video capture feed

ok tried it but it didn't work

ok i tried most of this...couldn't try the component DA part b/c i don't have one. and i can get my lyrics to do a lower third with a white font and look great. But if i want to put a background in behind them, the color on the background is all screwed up. i tried messing the subcarrier phase in the menu and it would adjust some but still didn't really give accurate color. This DSK is a lot more complicated than the mx-50. But i really need to be able to use it. Any ideas?

i'm using an Extron VS 100 scan converter, running words from songscreen liquid and coming into the mx-70. There is a horizontal and a vertical sync option on the scan converter.... both of which i have hooked up to the Genlock ports on the back of the MX-70. This fixed the rolling text effect but the backgrounds are still wierd colors....reds especially...they freak out.

Any good ideas....

You've gotta send in your key fill as a component video signal. To do this, you need a scan converter from your computer that can output component (YUV) -- TVOne or ScanDo will do just fine... then get the DA that you don't have yet (Kramer is a good choice), and split the Y signal of that... one goes to Fill Y... the other goes to Key.

Either that, or use internal background through MX-Navi.

Cheers.

Can i take the Y Signal into a regular (composite) DA and just split it there? i tried that the other day but it didn't seem to work? any thoughts or does it have to be a Component DA?

That's exactly it -- use a regular composite DA and split it there. After you've got it all wired, we just have to check your settnigs. Oh, another thought -- please tell me you're using a scan converter with genlock... (uh oh..!)

yeah, i'm using an Extron VS 100. it has a horizontal and vertical sync option on it so i ran out of both of those and into the two Genlock ports on the back of the switcher. are there any internal settings in the LCD panel that i must set? i still got wierd color when i tried this!

Tim Simms:
Appears you have a good handle on this. Can you suggest model types (ie TVOne ???) and Kramer ??? to allow Easyworship to connect to the MX70 Swithcer? Thanks

For the scan converter, we use the TVOne CS-620A (tho any of their 600-series scan converter will do). [Product Site]

On Kramer, we use a VM-3V-I; just your basic composite D/A. [Product Site]

I outlined hook-up in a previous post to this thread. But let me know if anything's unclear and needs more detail. Good luck!

Cheers,
-Tim

Panasonic MX70

Thks Tim.. one more question.. we use Canon XL-2 digital cameras that are not genlockable (unless purchase aftermkt box)... we connect camera 1 to bus A and camer 2 to bus B and Camera 3 to Bus A. on the MX70.. Will this be an issue?

Thanks A bunch.
Maybe some Alaska salmon is in order!
