Canon XHA1 causing a glitch

For some reason my canon XHA1 is causing a glitch when I cut from one camera to the other, I've tried replacing all the cables and even borrowed a different switcher but the problem still persists. Is there a setting that I can change to get rid of this?

Thanks

What switcher are you using? It sounds like you're using a synchronous switcher with sources that aren't timed.

Well, that's not the issue: the V4 is an async switcher with onboard frame syncs.

Describe the glitch. Is it a horizontal roll, momentary blackout, do you get white with green bars? Also, are you using the same video format on all sources (i.e., composite, YC, DV, etc..)?

its more of a roll, I would like to post a link with 3 frames that i exported but I'm not allowed.

It turns out that the other switcher was fine and that the issues seems to be with the edirol itself.

Check the settings on the Canon. On earlier 'X' series canons, you can change the frame rate. The edirol is probably looking for something like 29.97, and there are possibly other frame rate settings on the Canon
