Video wall setup vs curtain LED

Hi all, I hope this is the right forum for this. I already read several post regarding video wall in the previous years and I know many technology and prices changed.

Well my church is about to expand our display. We are considering LED curtain or Video wall (3x3 setup maybe). Little bit of our church info, Our ceiling is only 9 ft high.

Please kindly give me your feedback on:
1. is this approach is good? why?
2. LED curtain or Video wall? why?
3. Recommended hardware and software and ballpark budget that we need.

Many many thanks is advance

What are you trying to accomplish? Video signage? Graphics in a church service? I-mag application?

What are the sources? Signal type?

How large is the room? How many people?

What is the content?

I think what Tom was trying to get at were things like how far the nearest and furthest viewers will be from the display.

You noted that it is graphics but the source would be the switcher output. Does that mean you have no cameras? Are you simply trying to create some color and patterns or woud the graphics include text that you want people to be able to read?

With a 9' ceiling, would the display be behind people and things on stage? Is that what is desired or might that be a factor in terms of being able to view what is on the display?

In general, ignore the hardware and descibe what you are trying to do and achieve.

On some more specific issues:

When you note the possibility of a 3x3 video wall, what are you envisioning? A 3x3 wall of 42" or so consumer flat panels? A wall of professional LCD displays with minimal trim that are intended specifically for such applications? A stack of rear projection cubes?

Do you have or can you get the power in place to support a video wall?

Do you have a ballpark budget? If it was $1,000, would that be okay? How about $10,000, $25,000 or $100,000? Just trying to avoid getting into efforts related to options that get everyone excited but aren't practical.

Yeah, lets be sure we are being realistic about budget here. Also, 3'x3' even with a space with a 9' ceiling is going to look very small and rather odd.

Is this something like what you were looking to do?

Currently we have (2) 50" LCD in our sanctuary that connected via HDMI to our Video switcher. The video switcher connected to 1 multimedia PC (showing like song lirycs and all) and (2) cameras that showing live during the sermons and praise and worship session.

The video wall or LED curtain plan to replace those LCD tv.

for the video wall we are thinking to get the slim trim monitor that purposely for video wall purposes. Something like Samsung 400UX-3 40" LCD Video Wall Display will be ok or maybe to much.. I don't know cause I new in this approach.

The distance from the video wall display to the 1st row will be about 10ft.

I hope that help to clarify
Budget if possible under $10,000

I'm confused what as to why you want to use LED curtain. At 10" away, the resolution will be so low you'll basically see the individual LED's on most (if not all) curtains.

If your looking to put any sort of lyrics or viewable video up, you'll need to go with large monitors or a projection screen. If you just want to have cool moving colors on the wall, I suppose you could get away with LED curtain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but LED curtain is only really effective at a much greater distance than 10".
