Would Love some Guidance on an upcoming project for our Church!

Hey guys - Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere. Im kind of new and so Im still making my way through the threads. Here is my scenario, I'd love some feedback and suggestions.

Our Church is located in a former Movie theater. Until we are able to knock down walls and build a larger auditorium, we are using theaters. We have one theater that is our "Main Auditorium" where everything is Live. Next door, we have a Video Venue where we currently live stream the entire service, music and all. This fall we are going to be basically making everything Live in the Video Venue except for the Pastor's Message. Ideally it would be live streamed, but thats assuming that the bands were perfectly in time, as well as any other elements. So I guess we'd need to have it so we could play the Pastor's message on a delay if we needed to. What are some solutions for this that have worked for you guys?

Thanks!

Is the projection in the video venue HD or SD?

Is your switching system in the video venue HD or SD?

Thanks.

You could go with a tivo and record and playback the sermon at the same time. What we did was have a "host" who would bridge between worship and the sermon. He'd welcome people, etc and then wrap up at the end of the previous element so that we could join the sermon during the walk-up video. If he took a couple of seconds too long, the walkup video wasn't super important anyway, so we could just join it late and we'd get all the sermon.

If everything is already in HD (cameras, switcher, projection, etc.) then a Grass Valley Turbo or 360 Systems MaXX 1200 HD will allow you to record HD and playout the same HD signal you are recording all without finalizing the recording. Thus, you can "time-slip" the playout for when the video venue is ready for it.

These recorders cost in the $20,000 ish range.

SVSi / Volante products are pretty slick and they offer a recorder product that I think can time shift too.

Thanks guys!

What would be the best "non-hd" solution? I guess something a little more economical for the budget?

DIY: Some form of Tivo solution. Tivo alone or with a RF modulator.
