Question External Live Recorder

Hi, guys,

I'm from Brazil and this is my first topic (sorry for my english).
My church bought a Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio switcher and we are facing some issues.

We are using a notebook Core i7 with 8gb of RAM and we are using it just to control ATEM and to record the video in Media Express via USB.
The video and audio are out of sync.

We are thinking about buying an external blu-ray recorder (actually to record DVDs and then to record blu-ray discs when it gets popular here) to record the service and after this we are thinking about buying a DVD-R tower to make copies at the end of the service so we can sell DVDs right the way.

Do you guys have an idea about what external recorder we can buy? Because there is no blu-ray recorder with HDMI input and we want to be able to record the DVDs via video component thinking about the quality.

I loved this comunity!!

Hi Roger,
Could I check how you are sending the audio from your audio mixer to the Atem TVS?

Hi, sien.
Thanks for the reply.

The ATEM has just one audio input: AES/EBU.
I get the output from our audio mixer.
I know there is no problem in the input because I send the audio/video signal to the Internet and there is no sync problem.
The only problem we get is in the recording via USB.

Thanks!

Are the audio and video consistently out of sync the same amount? Is video ahead of audio or is audio ahead of video? You can always delay the signal of the faster one to get them in sync.

I don't think I'd record directly to an optical disc (DVD or BluRay) because there's no opportunity to edit.

Hi, Paul!
Thanks for your reply.

No, unfortunately the sync problem is not consistent, it varies.
It looks like a processing problem but the notebook is a core i7 with 8gb of RAM and 750gb of hard drive and it has almost no software installed and all the drivers are from the manufacturers.

The out of sync increases...it's low at the beginning and it grows.

Thanks a lot for your attention.
