Adding to an existing system

Hello, all!

I'm looking for a bit more video info since most of my background is in sound and computers.

Let me start you off with my setup. Our sanctuary has a series of large picture windows that look out into our narthex. At the back of the narthex is a balcony that is usually used for overflow during Easter/Christmas/etc. There are a few people who regularly sit up here on Sunday morning as well. There are also 3 Bose speakers downstairs in the narthex that provide audio to this area.

The ministry staff came back from retreat last week with a vision. They want to make this area more versatile. They would like to put 2-3 televisions up hanging from the ceiling with in ceiling speakers. We're also trying to wire it up so that we can use the other inputs on the tvs for things like dvd/bd players and video game systems. Trying to use the space as much as possible since it's central to most of the building. Not sure what kind of technology is out there or whether it would be better to change out what we have completely.

We're running ProPresenter4 on an iMac. The video signal comes out and is converted to VGA and goes to an Extron Crosspoint 84. The signal comes out of this (now split into RGB H-sync V-sync) and runs to both projectors. The whole system is controlled by an Axcent3 controller. This unit controls the inputs on the projectors, raising/lowering the projector screens, etc.

The idea is to run both our song slides as well as a live video signal to the balcony (switching between slides and video) I'm not sure I want to run the RGB all the way up there since I don't know how much longer we'll be using VGA. Perhaps cat5 with baluns? That would let me change the interface by just changing the baluns if our technology changed.

This is all very preliminary. Most everyone is still out of town on vacation but they want to "aggressively pursue" this when the get back. I'm just looking for a good direction right now. Not sure if we need to change our system completely or if we can work with what we have in a practical manner.
