If you only need embedded audio for your HDTV distribution, you could insert an embedder on that line.
Maybe just insert an embedder between one output and input of the router.

This is a common problem when discussing some video and graphics formats as their can be multiple elements involved, for example resolution and scan rate, and thus terms such as 1920x1080 and 1080p are only partial descriptors. This is the kind of detail that is easily overlooked but a very real potential problem.

Actually, the same goes for the "SDI" as that seems to often be used as a generic term applied to multiple SDI and HD-SDI formats and one can encounter problems if you do not pay attention to the specifics of what "SDI" is involved.

I have 3 Blackmagic HDMI-HDSDI opengear converters, that was intended to be used for converting the outputs from an Apantac multiviewer. The multiviewer only outputs 1080p, so thats how i found out that the BM converters does'nt support 1080p. This was also confirmed by their web support.

You're pulling HDMI out of a multiviewer and converting it to HD-SDI? That sounds weird to me. Why wouldn't you pull SDI straight off the switcher?

The Apantac multiviewers only has HDMI on the outputs. Inteended for going straight to controlroom monitors etc. I wanted to route the outputs through our Blackmagic HD-SDI matrix.
This is a part of a large setup with independent TV production facility, combined with our church hall.

Yeah, I get the HDMI output from the multiviewer. That makes sense. I don't get sending the output through your router. Where are you sending it and why?

All uor infrastructure is SDI. If i have ie a light director sitting in the church hall, i can give him a monitor with all the camerapictures, from the multiviewer. I can also place a monitor on stage in the church, or in our TV studio, with program picture, a countdown clock etc. Thats a feature in the multiviewer.
