Question Matrox DualHead2Go

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has installed a Matrox DualHead2Go Analog (Windows version) for the purpose of splitting video for rear projection (monitor) purposes. What challenges did you encounter and how did you resolve them?

I tried to install our Matrox unit last night and got frustrated.

Equipment currently used:
- computer with split video card (one feed to a stand alone monitor; the 2nd feed to a Kramer VX24 unit)
- Kramer vx24
- NEC 6000 lumen projector for FOH
- optoma TW610ST short throw projector for rear video monitor puposes

Software: Easyworship 2009

Thanks for your replies.

The DualHead2Go wasn't designed for the setup you describe. It was designed to create one double-wide screen that you can split to two side-by-side projectors.

oh

The Matrox unit is the one recommended by EasyWorship; I'll check with them and post their reply once I receive it.

I've done it. Front of house projection, rear foldback, user monitor. Works very well.

re: my original post: It all came together on the 2nd try !! I followed the relevent page in EasyWorship's Support and viola.

Here's how the final install looks:
- computer tower with dual video output on same card
- one output feeds the video operator's work monitor
- 2nd output feeds the Matrox DualHead2Go Analog single input
- Matrox output #1 feeds a Kramer Presentation Switcher/Scaler (VGA-1)
- one Kramer output feeds FOH projector
- 2nd Kramer output feeds dedicated monitor
- 2nd Matrox output feeds a Optoma Short Throw projector (rear of house feed)
- output on Optoma feeds a dedicated monitor for video operator's viewing

I spent about two hours fine tuning the EasyWorship settings for both FOH and rear monitor.

Would I recommend this setup for other video projection applications (especially EasyWorhsip users)? YES !! However, take things slow, understand your guide sheets, and have a full pot of coffee available.
