Switch AC adapter broke need new fast!

The AC adapter on our Kramer VP-242 broke. The wire broke right where it comes out of the adapter. I've been trying to find somewhere where we can get it by Friday. We went to an A/V store but they can only get it in 3-5 business days. I asked for possibility of rushing it, say by overnight, but they said no, the order is too small. We're stuck praying it arrives Friday. I'm still looking for a local DC area source, or anywhere where I can get it overnighted to us. Anyone know some way we can get one faster than 3-5 days? I wish we could fix it, but with my disabilities I can't do it like I once could.

Find an ARRL club in your area (http://www.arrl.org/find-a-club). Contact anyone available, let them know of your need and your disability and ask for assistance repairing your power supply. I'd be surprised if they don't have to operational again TONIGHT.

It looks like it's just a basic 12VDC power supply. I would think you could take it over to radioshack and find one that would work...

I feel dumb for not thinking of that! I'm so used to electronics requiring specific adapters. Thanks!

Kramer responded via email and sending me one. They said it will be here before Friday!

An update: Both arrived yesterday! So now we have 2 adapters. Will probably return the one we ordered, but might just keep it, just in case.

Always, always, ALWAYS keep a backup power supply handy for EVERY device that is critical to your production.
