| New video switcher recomendation We are updating the video system in room at our church. The room is used as a video venue for one of our Sunday services. We feed it 1280x720 video from our main sanctuary.
The room will have 5 HD projectors (One Christie LW650 and four Christie LW555).
We currently have 5 1024x768 projectors and a Folsom video switch that let us have two different video feeds (one to the center and two farthest from center screens, one to the two screens directly on either side of the main screen). We use this to put the picture of the pastor on the larger, center screen, the sermon slides on the two smaller screens to the left and right of the main screen and the two farthest out screens get the pastor. They are kind of video fill for seats that look almost directly sideways to the stage.
Besides the SDI video feed we also need to feed the switch a ProPresenter Mac feed, a DVD (could be HD), composite video from a camera in the room (could be SDI) and VGA for guest computers. We have converters for all inputs to RGB which is what all the inputs on the current switch are. We don't need to be able to switch audio. Six or eight inputs would be all we would ever need.
Our current Folsom setup uses two switches that are controlled by a single control station. We can chose any input and put it on either or both groups of projectors. We like that versatility and the convenience of a single set of controls.
Other presentation switchers at our church are from TV One which work well for us but we are not opposed to other solutions.
Any recommendations?
