| I did get the resolution fixed. Had to set the resolution of the switcher to the highest setting of the rear projector. Looks good now BUT>>>> Screen color has shifted to a pale yellowish tone. Comes and goes . I did find by rebooting the kramer it would clear up. both the front and rear projector and 2ndary monitor all did the color shift. Checked the DA and it was okay.

| I wrote a big long reply yesterday but it was lost when I tried to submit it. So here's the Reader's Digest version. I actually think that setting the scaler to output 1280x800 makes the most sense. Actually 1366x800 may make more sense since that is the native resolution for the main projector but none of the devices, oddly including that projector, are apparently compatible with that resolution. Based on the product manuals, 1280x800 should work fine for everything. I have to wonder if the text being cut off on the main screen was a matter of the projector format conversion, which is a menu item, being set to "FULL" as that scales the image to fit the 1366x800 resolution and may do that by making a 1280x800 resolution signal into a 1366x854 image, meaning a little bit would get cut off at the top and bottom. If that is the case, try setting the format conversion for "REAL", which should direct map the 1280x800 signal to the center of the 1366x800 with no additional scaling in the projector. That will leave a bit of black to either side but it may be the best option. On the color shift, have you tried connecting the second monitor directly to the Kramer output to see if it happens then? Another thought would be to verify the computer source resolution, ideally it would match the 1280x800 output but you might want to make sure it at least is a resolution and vertical scan rate that the VP-729 supports. |
