Figures... Our 3 million estimate turned into a 4.3 million reality. What's really sad is that 4 years later there was a "Hey no one told us that!" movement. In reality there were a few "you could take that two ways" communications and getting the final, absolute total took too long. The "direct" answer would have been "where the heck have you been if you didn't know that???" but you have to be a little more politic when you're asking peoples to do sacrificial giving.

We didn't get to suffer... A lot of people did "sacrificial pledging" where they specifically gave up something(s) but after 6 years no one that did that felt like they suffered in the end. Typically whatever people "gave up" ended up getting replaced in one form or another.

We had a successful one a few years ago called "Vision Casting: Changing Lives Forever". Imagery was with binoculars and telescopes, crosshairs (we have a lot of hunters in our church...they love crosshairs on anything...LOL), etc.
