Children's Camp Theme?

Hey everyone,

We just finished up the 2008 camp...and I'd like to get a big jump on 2009!! We waited on too many things this year...so I need to start now.

I'm looking for theme and logo ideas for 2009.

The last 3 years theme's have been...

Any thoughts?

We had some recommendations from the sponsors of the churches that attended. I'm not all that sold on any of them...but you might have ideas.

Some sort of sports theme
Seize the Day
Elite Fleet
Some sort of a beach theme

Could you elaborate on that idea a little bit and help me flesh it out? Logo thoughts?

The Faith All Stars? Hebrews Chapter 11...lots of opportunities for stories there, with lots of characters and graphics opportunities there, and easy to make scripts...

Our camp Tshirt that year had Who Care? on the front and on the back
it had I DO! and a Empty Rectangle so the kids could get signatures with a sharpie.

Our camp theme for the children was Ooz Cruise. There was a huge cruise liner back drop at the worship area and most of the activities were cruise like or had ooz involved. The lessons were from Paul's life and travels. If you want more info, I could pass along your e-mail to the Children's minister at our church.

I thought I'd just revive this thread instead of starting a new one.

We had our first meeting last night for the 2009 camp. Although we didn't nail down any theme ideas, we did talk about some other stuff.

I'd like to create a logo for the camp that doesn't have anything to do with the theme...but is about the purposes of the camp. There was a ton of discussion, and the best summation I of it is...evangelism, discipleship, worship. We don't have to use those exact words, but that is the jest of everything we discussed.

Any thoughts on a logo to help communicate these things?

Any other thoughts on a theme?

I just registered here to find a Summer 2009 theme. At our church our Children's and Student's Ministries come together with one overall Summer Theme that can work from preschool on up. Talk about tricky! We run several day trips and age specific events here. Our curriculum for Children's doesn't match our theme as we use 252 basic but all of our summer activities do. The Students Ministry however tries to match their curriculum to the theme. This year our theme was a Game Show type feel. It was simply called Summer 2008 but it was all based on various game shows. We advertise with a poster sized calendar for the families to hang with all the Children's/Students events on it. Then we also do a 1-2 minutes sketch and/or video in the Live Adult Services to advertise for the summer fun. The year before that we did The Expedition - take off on Indiana Jones. It took us forEVER to agree on the Game Show and we still weren't happy with it.

We are really hoping to get a jump start on Summer 2009.
