| Re: Stewardship Message Metaphor Needed I'd think about the laws that keep a car on the road: • Change the oil every 3,000 miles • Keep an eye on your tire tread • Change your air filter • Check your guages and levels • A tune-up every year Stuff like that... If marriage is the car, though...I'd focus on something like the oil (change oil, oil filter, make sure right kind of oil, if use synthetic oil you can't go back to regular, etc.) I'd explore what role money plays in the relationship...would it be more suited to explore the INTERIOR of the car...or the paint job? Something that doesn't seem as vital as the moving parts of the car, since money is not a "moving part" of a marriage, although it can hurt it. Hope that helps... |

| Re: Stewardship Message Metaphor Needed What about relating it the concept of the constant checkin that you have to do when you drive. Such as, checking * what's in front (out the windshield) * what's behind (the rearview mirror) * what's at the sides (side mirror and over the shoulder) * checking the guages and speed (a brief look at the dash) * and controlling the direction with the steering wheel Billy |
