Hahahahaha... That is really funny. My training was in technology (IT systems before theater and then as an electrician/rigger in IATSE), so I used to get a lot of "that is what I want, figure it out" type of designers (especially when I ME at a good sized regional theater) and I hated it. Then by education I was a designer. So I would look at the ME and say "I want a light there that will shine there" and leave it up to them to get it there (and I still do from time to time in theater allow the ME the "art" of making the plot fit the house). Now I guess I am both. I not only design the look, but I also have to figure out how to make it fit (although my ME, rigger, and engineer help). It is very odd.

Hey, how do you get that avatar pic? It won't let me.

I did the avatar pic by taking a pic and using photoshop I shrank it to the size limit and then dropped the quality to the file size limit and uploaded it. Took me a while to get it right but I was bored that day.

BTW I'm really not that bad of a designer to just come up with the ideas and force others to figure it out. I use to really enjoy figuring it out, but here lately I've not had to worry about it because I've been working with truss based systems so I've been limited to what my production rental is. Although starting next week I'm doing a month as an LD at a large church so I'll probably get to start working with my brain again.
