LED Ligths won't work

My LED's won't work. They stay on, but I can't control them from my DMX controller. I thought it was the cable, I changed it and nothing. I tried different dip switch addresses (using #10 on and off, and many other addresses). I tried another light, didn't work either. I just bought another controller. Still no success.

I don't know what's going on! We have a mime performance in our church TONIGHT that's heavily based on the lighting. Please, if anyone has any suggestions they would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you very much,
God bless you.

Looks like you have tried everything.

My check list usually goes...

1. Make sure units are getting power
2. Check the patch on the console
3. Check the patch at the unit
4. Make sure your controller is outputting good DMX
5. Make sure your cables are good

Beyond that, it seems like you got bad units. Contact your dealer.

Mike

Knowing nothing about the units in question or the console, or your level of experience, my first suspicion would be the addressing. This won't help for tonight, but:

- What fixtures do you have?
- What are your fixtures addressed to?
- What are those addresses softpatched to on the board?
- What board do you have?

Have you got a DMX terminator plugged in at the end of the line? This doesn't help you for your February gig but if I post it here it may help someone else in the future.

I have an led light strip for a vehicle (12v). I wanna hook it up inside my house, and i want come directly of my computers power supply. the power supply will not be running a computer just the leds by its self. its 250 watts and powers 12v and 5v. What im asking is, will there be too many watts for the leds and burn them out or should it be fine?

This is a really bad idea, your better to get a 12V power supply, you should be able to get a wall wart that will output 12V, Radio Shack is a good source for this kind of thing.

Buy a jack that matches up to the output of the wall wart (or your power supply) another that matches the input for the lights and a small project box. You attach the two jacks to the project box and wire them together, you probably should put an inline fuse inside the project box. This will allow the lights to be returned to vehicle use, and will protect your power supply.
