| Roland M-400 Wireless remote control HI. I am new to the community, so bear with me. Our church has a M-400 board that we can connect via USB and control through the laptop. Apparently you should be able to connect the USB from the board to a wireless router and share the USB connected M-400 with a laptop through the wireless connection. Has anyone been successful at making this work? I have been able to configure this but I keep getting a message "Console has refused the connection" message. The laptop connects, and stays connected but the board refuses to sync up. Any feedback and help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| ROland M-400 Hi. Thanks for your response. I did check out the Roland support site and their tech support. Bottom line from them is that they have no know Wireless with a shared USB configuration that works. They only referenced a DLINK DIR-633 they tried but after some recent changes, that is not working anymore. Their suggestion is to use a computer hard wired to the USB and then remote desk top to it from a laptop. Not a very functional solution. Hard to accept that Roland is dropping the ball on such a "must have" wireless mode capability! I was hoping a user has found a better solution. Roland has indicated that they are not pursing a fix for this! ![]() ![]() |

| It seems like their design is to use a computer connected directly to the console via USB, and then you use a second computer or tablet that is controlling the main PC via remote desktop or VNC. USB isn't really meant to be shared over a network... you can do it with a printer, but it's not really meant for random usb peripherals - like an audio console for instance.

| Roland M-400 wireless capability Hi guys. Thanks for your input. This is what the Roland support group responded with when I asked if they would get a wireless solution working (from Roland support) Please be aware that our team in Japan is aware of the market desire for easy wireless console control. Because the interface must be USB, they are looking at various solutions that can be implemented cross-platform. We have no schedule for this development process, but rest assured we are working on it. Once we have finalized an implementation, it will be announced on our website and made available to the public. |
