| As a member of the Missions Committee in a small town, we are always looking for interesting - and geographically disbursed- ways to bring money in to support our Missions efforts. Someone asked me about taking donations by cell phone. I love the immediacy of the idea but I'm not sure where to begin to explore this idea. Has anyone done this? Is it expensive? Technologically challenging? Any insights would be appreciated. |

| I think you need to get the cell phone companies involved to pull that off. But I've only hard of large efforts, like the Haitian releif effort that did this.

| There are companies that provide that service -- there would be a fee of course, but it can be done (they take care of dealing with the phone companies). For a small ministry/goal, it's probably fairly cost prohibitive. I found these with a google search: http://www.mgive.com/ http://www.giveonthego.com/ http://www.causecastmobilefundraising.org/ |
