| New Ministry for 2011 I've been contemplating this for quite some time, but have decided to announce and see what happens. Throne Together Ministries is beginning it's 6th year, providing opportunities for local youth (South-Central Michigan) to receive training in vocal ministry through southern gospel and quartet style gospel music. Through this ministry, youth learn to sing parts, hear parts, minister through song and testimony and sing in front of congregations and audiences as many as 24 times a year. Additionally, participants learn to communicate with other tech crews, and I work with host technicians to learn how to interpret the wide range of vocabulary others use for communicating about sound quality, mix, etc. I'm feeling compelled to bring this ministry opportunity to anyone through a solo ministry/workshop outreach to the rest of the country. Over the years, here is what other's in and out of gospel music have said to me or about me. Mosie Lister: "Son, you can sing!" Jan Chamberlin (Mickey Rooney's wife): "You have a beautiful voice, I could listen to you for hours" Mark Hale & Dan Ward, Harvest Gospel Studios, "I could listen to you all day, you can just sing" I've also received compliments from Ronnie Booth, Michael Booth, Jim Brady (The Booth Brothers), Ronnie Booth Sr., Brandon Reese & Ray Reese (The Kingsmen Quartet), David Sutton of Triumphant Quartet, Gary Casto of Tribute Quartet, Dave McVay and Mitchel Jon formerly of Three Bridges, The Taylors and the list goes on and on. Though I've been requested many times over my many years at The Gospel Barn, I have chosen not to be full time so that I can be home and a dad to my 8yr old and 3yr old. Just putting feelers out to see what doors God may be opening. |
