SundayPlus RIP

The WEB Site for Sunday Plus states that they have closed.

Thanks to all of you for your support over the years. Sadly, we are no longer able to remain in business, and so it is with great regret that we close our doors for the final time.

Sunday Plus Dinosaur

Yes it's unfortunate they strung us along for so many years always promising upgrades as Microsoft operating systems kept passing them by. Don't know why they didn't sell the code to someone else. It's basically a good program. It has nice features, and we'll limp along with it as long as possible. Our church computer is dedicated to Sunday Plus and I've been able to work around all the Sunday Plus problems so far. I do feel sorry for those who purchased it within the last year. I really do think the company was not being honest with them.

if anybody purchased it in the last 3 years, they didn't do much homework before spending their church's money, so I don't feel that sorry for them

Fortunately it's still a useable program, just doesn't have all the bells and whistles other presentation software might have.

The reason I got on their webpage (which hasn't changed in 3 years was to see if there was a way of slowing the transition between song verses when using a video loop in the background. I notice that when using a video loop, it snaps from one verse to the next. I'm looking for something more soothing.

I am afraid all you have is the snap cut in video backgrounds.
That was supposed to come out in SP 2.5 that was about 2/3's through when they dropped it for Freepath.

For an easy to use, very basic program, it is still good, just dead.

Accidentally went to SP site and this is what popped up "This domain name expired on 05/08/2011 and is pending renewal or deletion". So I guess the 1 week heads up was all that they gave us.

Since Grass Roots isn't making money off of it, I wonder if they could be persuaded to release the code for S+? It would be phenomenal if the open source community could take it over. I know nothing about coding or development so I have no idea if this is even feasible, but it's just a thought...

Sad. It has worked fine for our church for three years now. We prepare or reuse 60 to 100 slides every Sunday, not too much video, but a few integrated PP presentations. Very user friendly. We will likely keep using it until someone else volunteers to invest time and money in buying and learning a new presentation software package.

As of today, they still have a final message up: http://www.sundayplus.com/

Have you tried any of the WinXP compatibility options that Windows 7 has?

May want to try downloading the 2.4.2 zip file at this link. http://www.mandevillebiblechurch.org...undayplus.html

This is from Frank on the SP forum on Fqcebook. SP seems to work pretty well on Windows 7.
