SundayPlus problem

Ever since I went from XP to Vista back to XP again I can't get SundayPlus to open. I get the hourglass...and then nothing. It's not running in processes and I've tried reinstalling twice (which is what they suggest over in the SP forum). Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If not then what free worship software would you recommend (that I can learn before Sunday). I'm thinking Easislides but I'd like to know if there is anything comparable that's free. I do have powerpoint but I'd rather not use that if I don't have to.

Has anyone switched worship softwares recently and wanting to get rid of the old one cheap?

LeAnn

OpenSong doesn't do vids, but does have full on scripture support, and is well worth the FREE price. Its askward coding lyrics in the first time or two, but you'll quickly pick it up.

have you tried manually running regserv32 against each of the dll's in the program folder for your ws...?

Thanks, I'll check out OpenSong. How would I go about running regserv32 against the dll's? I'm not familiar with that operation.

usually you find regsvr32.exe in ...windows\system32

While you can run it manually simply by typing at a command prompt, followed by the path of the dll's that might need re-registering....

you can also copy the regsvr32.exe file

paste it into the folder where your ws's dll's are kept, and then drag them one at a time to the exe and let it go. It SHOULD then re-register the dll

however, it won't always work that way...I think if there is a registry issue with the program itself, the re-registering won't work.

You can use ScreenMonkey to show vids in conjunction with OpenSong or EasiSlides.

You might want to try the demos of something like Easy Worship or Media Shout. Being an SP user I have had less trouble using EW than others and you may be surprised at all the things you can do with it that you cannot with SP. Easy Worship also has a $100 rebate when switching from another software. One of the lucky ones that did not have problems with Vista and SP but my fingers are still crossed.

Tried that but it's saying they can't be registered? I even downloaded the trial version off the SP website and it still doesn't work! I'm having a hard time finding my way around Easislides too so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. Guess I'll have to make do with Powerpoint

I wish I could switch but the funds just aren't there right now

If all you want to do is project lyrics and powerpoint you might try Zionworx. It was my first worship software and very stable but limited.

sigh-yes, some can't be even when stuff works...depends on how they insert the dll's into the registry. Vista has required many to upgrade how they do it...and may have rendered some of the older registry tools to work differently than before.

Give Opensong a try before you bail to Powerpoint (shudder). We switched from EW to Opensong back in the summer and are quite happy with it. Except I'm still waiting on that Linux build they're working on, so I can dump Windows altogether.

The song formatting takes a little while to get the hang of, but it's no harder than EW to run, and it's open-source, cross-platform, and free. Plus, it's the only one I know of that has a decent single-screen user interface .. handy for those times when we have to run words from my single-headed laptop.
