Talking Please help choose some lighting!

Thank you in advance for your help.

We don;t want to spend a lot of money, (no surprise), but we are looking for some good led lights to sit on the floor and wash the back wall. The wall is about 50ft wide. We have a cheapo chauvet dmx controller already.

Thank you!

The wall is about 25 foot tall I would say. Not sure but I can check tomorrow. Not sure on a budget. I am actually thinking of buying them for the church. So my budget would be a cheap as possible to get the job done.

Thank you.

Just fyi, lighting a wall 50ft x 25ft is not going to be cheap. You're going to need quite a few fixtures, each being over $300 a piece.

Mike, don't you think he should use some led strip lights? That would give him the width he needs. He may need more fixtures though.

My first thought was using striplights, but having them on the top and bottom. I don't know if that's feasible with what you guys have as far as rigging (since you said you want them on the floor).

I don't usually recommend Chauvet, but how about this:

Depends on the look he wants. I don't know many people who just want a solid washed wall. Most people want shafts of light to highlight things.

What do you say op?

I avoid Chauvet except their very high end units. All the rest have too many problems.

That's true, I guess. The first thing that came to mind when I heard 50'x25' wall was CYCLORAMA!!! Haha. I'm a sucker for large sheets of color. However, my mind is geared more towards theatre right now than church.

The colorband tri is a higher-ish end fixture. 3W LED's as well. I like that. I agree though, chauvet club/dj lights are crap, but their pro stuff is pretty solid. At least in my limited experience.

Anyways, yeah, depends on whatcha want.

Thank you for your info. I think we have decided to just go the projection route where we use 3 projectors to hit the screen and both side walls. That way we can change it anytime to anything.
