Lightbulb Architectural lighting?

Hey Everyone,

I'm loving this site....I'm looking to project static graphics/images/text on a wall of our stage. I have looked around for slide projectors and came across this one....

I can't post url's yet so....it is the Professional Slide Projector at Starlight dot com

Does anyone have any experience with this projector or a similar one? It seems to fit the bill. Should I stay away from low end or is a slide projector something I can get away with on the low end?

What do you all use for this application...any pics?

Thanks!

Unless you have a huge room it may not do what you want.
Specs say it can produce an image up to 50 ft in size.

But then it says that at 30 ft away it will only produce an image that is
6 feet wide. To cover an average stage of 30-40 ft it would have to be
about 150 -180 feet away from stage.

Standare Projector would work better. And would be more versatile in
what you project.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind. Here is something we are wanting to do but have not been able to afford it yet.
They are calling it "environmental projection".
Check this out. It will blow your mind!
go to visualworshiper.com.
We actually consulted with Cameron Ware at this site. To do this well it is a big commitment.

I do a lot of environmental projection as well. It doesn't have to be a huge commitment (well depends on how you define huge), depending on the room, I have done packages for as little as $3000 or so, all the way up to $20k setups and larger.

Most of the commitment isn't really in regards to gear, but more towards people...and training/content/philosophy on why and how to really use Environmental Projection well.

Hope it's encouraging!

Maybe a big commitment. Like most media operations it comes down to the skill of the people being trained. But I still wouldn't call it a "huge" commitment. Of course it depends on how skilled you are looking to become. You are looking at about the same level of commitment as a small moving light rig.

I have been doing projection (theatrical, environmental, iMAG, etc) for over 10 years and I am still learning things every day. But basic training for a mid sized rig can be done 2-3 hours or less with an appropriately skilled person. Now to use it on the level of Camron or I will take years. But the good news is that you don't need to be at our skill level to have a rig that looks nice and gets the job done.

There should be nothing that prevents any church from doing this that really wants to. It is affordable, it is easily learned, and over time it can be mastered.
