| How do you upload from a DVD or play from a DVD through SSP? We use multiple DVD's for music during our service and the previous person had them copied into the computer, but some of the files have become corrupted. Not sure if that's because you shouldn't do it, because it wasn't done right, or some other reason...any guidance would be great! ![]() |

| I don't use SSP, but copying DVD's your computer is usually the better way to do it, that way you don't have to deal with a spinning disk as another potential source of failure. I would assume you can load up the .VOB files and play them like a DVD? Not sure why they would be corrupted though. If you have the time, I would rip them to .mov files or whatever video files work best with the software. That way it's just a video file being played, so less work for the system.

| According to the SSP Knowledgebase article" Recommended DVD Applications for use with SongShow Plus (SW020) You need to have WinDVD 8 (Standard) or PowerDVD 7 (Standard or Deluxe). Then you go to the DVD database panel (over with the images/songs/videos/etc). Then "import" the DVD. This doesn't import the content, but creates an index file that you can put in a program to play the clip. Many DVDs have so much copy protection on them, that they cannot be played through SSP. I agree with Josh. Rip the content if you can (legally and physically). I generally open the DVD as a data file, go to the ts_video directory and figure out which VOB file has the content you want. Copy that VOB file to the hard drive (into the SSP videos file) and rename the extention from VOB to MPG.
