DVD Stops Short

We are using a GROUP produced VBS program. There are several music videos on a DVD that we need to play. I have them "imported" into SSP. However, when we play them, the video stops playing short of the end of the video. We never see the last 5-8 seconds of the video. This happens only with the DVD from GROUP. I can play the entire music video outside of SSP ok. I have used Windows Media Player and everything works ok there. I have run the DVD through a DVD player and that works ok too. But when I use SSP it stops 5-8 seconds before the end of the video. Someone suggested to update PowerDVD player to V7 (presently using V6). We are using the latest update of SSP. I know GROUP copy protects their software well. Don't even think about loading a file from their DVD or other disks onto your computer. It will not happen. I don't think this is the problem since I am not really importing the video file, just the location of the file on the DVD.
Thanks
Bruce

For what it's worth, I've never had a problem obtaining permission from the copyright holder to allow me to rip a DVD clip for the sole purpose of including it in a Sunday worship set. In fact, one of them even sent me a private link so I could download an HD version.

Copy Rights

I wish I could say the same. GROUP protects their products. I understand that, since I am sure some chuches "share" their VBS materials with other churches. This is their source of income that they need to protect.

With another company I bought a mpeg file and downloaded it. I then wanted to include that clip on our "Announcements" that are played in a loop, by burning it on to a DVD. They would not allow that since I was changing the format of the clip. I had not bought the DVD format, just the mpeg file. So for that Sunday I had to convert the "Announcements" all to mpeg files and hook up a laptop to the flatscreens to play our "Announcements" which we normally run from a DVD player. What a pain... granted, it was something I could do, but there went another couple of hours that could have been used for something else.

If you have a chance, I would give the SongShow Plus tech support a call and see if they have any words of wisdom.

I know you can set an in and out time on the clips, but since this is happening with all of them, I doubt you did that with all of them.

Please give support a call at 877-458-6367 or email . We can give you some recommendations on where to locate Power DVD 7. We look forward to hearing from you and have a blessed day.
