Hi from Grace and Glory church!
Hi, everyone! I' recently became the department head of our chuch here in MA. I've always loved computers and technology and I feel God's been preparing me for this position my entire life. I really enjoy serving in the church. There are a lot of struggles, like trying to find people to volunteer. I find I'm always in the soundroom and hardley in service anymore. I really need to find a class on how to fully work and master the soundboard. now I'm pretty limited to what I can do, basically just controlling the house and the monitors. theres so much more i know i can do, so if anyone knows about any classes in Spfld/ CT area please let me know. I also need audio editing software. A few of our mics have been making a statiky sound during our sermons and have been recorded. I embarrrisingly have to hand those flawed cd's out, I need a way to take out the static. Thank you so much for this site it's truly a blessing, Virginia
Welcome to the site. You can get a lot of support and help here.
For learning about audio I have two recommendations. First, check out your local community colleges. Some have audio mixing classes as part of a technical or a radio/television program. Second, there is a Yamaha book on audio for worship that may be a help to you. Search for it on Amazon.
As for your static problem, I would focus on eliminating the issue rather than a way to fix it later. You will likely not be able to eliminate it in editing but surely can fix the system that is creating it. We would need a lot more information on your system to begin offering suggestions.
