Stretch fabric color for projection

Hey Experts,

I'm the Worship Pastor/Creative Director for a small church in transition to a more modern stage design. I want to put 3 point sail-type stretch fabric above the stage on either side, mirror imaging each other. Then we will project gobo patterns on them for effect. The question is...is white the best color for the fabric or can I use a darker color (black) so i can emulate a night sky effect etc. and not have the sails look so stark when not lit?

Does anyone have any experience with Stretchshapes.net and their budget line?

Thanks!

Jerad

Just buy a bunch of white lycra at your local fabric store and save TONS of money. If they look stark when not lit -- just keep them lit!

Here's what our's look like:

Good Point Peter

Peter,

Thanks for the fabric purchase advice...will most likely go that route. And good point on the "keep it lit" obvious (yet I didn't think of), simple solution. What lights are those on the truss towers....Cost?

Thanks,
Jerad

American DJ AccuSpot 250 Hybrids. I have no idea what we paid for them, but due to my pastor's ability to practically walk on water when it comes to negotiating prices, take the absolute lowest price you can find anywhere and he probably got them for half that.

White is best, or a light color. You won't see much light reflecting off black, since black absorbs light, whereas white, or lighter colors reflect light.
