Red face Projector screen recommendation

Hi everybody!

We are getting a new projection system for one of our worship centers and I need some advice for projection screens.

I have decided on the Sanyo PLC-WTC500AL 5000 lumen projector running native at 1280x800.

It will be in a room that seats 350 people and will be about 20ft back from the screen.

I am not looking for the cheapest screen. Since we are going to spend $4k on a projector/lens I don't want to have a regular same old screen. The screen will be mounted on the back wall of the stage.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We're simply delighted with our two sheets of drywall painted white. Seriously!

The image brightness, image contrast and viewing area are all variables the screen can affect with different screen surfaces providing different combinations of results. Do you have a specific image size in mind? Where is the audience relative to the screen? How much ambient light is hitting the screen?

In addition to the screen material, are you looking for a fixed screen or an electrically operated screen?

You know, I originally used Projector Goo for permanent stuff. Then, I had a client that had someone lean a ladder up against the screen and scratch it all up and asked what could be done. The painter in their maintenance department said that he could match the paint. And, when it was done, it looked identical.

So, if you go the paint route, projector goo isn't always what it's made up to be. But I used a dark gray for the screen. It made for really nice color reproduction.
