I need help with on stage screens

Hi,

I'm a Worship Leader at my church. We are looking to put screens on our stage to use for our chord charts and lyrics for singers. I haven't been able to find anything online about stuff like that. I really don't have any idea how to go about doing or finding out what to use. If anyone could help that would be absolutely great! Thanks!

They are not cheap, but try the Freehand Music Pad. It seems to me that there was one that also allowed you to do a little monitor mix as well. Can't remember what it was though.

I have also been looking for something like this for about a year. Freehand is too expensive and has capabilities beyond what we need.

I am thinking of a simply DIY setup that would look something like this: A laptop on stage running Mike Warren's Digital Fakebook with the vga out of the laptop distributed via some type of splitter/amp to 3 or 4 computer monitors. Two would be enough for the vocalists and maybe a couple more for the bass and other kb. The monitors would probably be around the 20" size and could be adapted onto a sturdy music stand.

Cost would be significantly reduced and you can setup playlists on the laptop that can be stepped through via mouse clicks or footpedal. The software is free but is limited to text type files. It will not, AFAIK, display sheet music. For the cost of one Freehand monitor you could build the whole system from scratch.

Hope this helps.

Pete
