Welcome to CMN!

I'm afraid I can't think of how you could put in additional screens wthout using additional projectors. The possibility exists to use large-screen TVs, but that's about it. As for getting the signal to your end destination, that's simple - you just need a 1:3 distribution amp such as this one.

Putting in additional screens is easy: just get a screen and put it in.

Putting something on that additional screen, however, is the part that takes a projector.

Stupid laws of physics.

Dazzelz: You need a video system set up that can pump enough video signal out from one computer to accommodate 2 or 3 screens. I'm a hardware klutz, I just know how to turn them on.

BUT, I assure you that a video pro can get you a video distribution amp and a scaler/switcher as needed for a variety of budgets.

Each screen will require a projector, unless you are confident that a large LCD screen could do the job. Then you only need the LCD, no projector or screen. But if you're needing this many screens, I'm thinking that an LCD is just going to be too small for your venue.

Are you saying that you want two smaller displays to serve the people up front on the platform rather than, or in addition to, using a single projection screen at the rear of the room? If so the most difficult issue may be getting power and cabling to the display locations. If that is possible then a simple distribution amplifier (DA) may be the only other thing needed, but that will depend on what signal goes to the projector.

Hi all! We are a small church based in South Africa with a congregation of 200 attendees.

We are currently on the lookout for a new projector and are sourcing some options. My reason for replying is that I also have the same issue as dazzelz. We have moved the singers to below the projection screen and they would like to see what is currently being shown on the screen above so as not to get lost. They have their own song sheets on stands so the screen would not have to be too large.

My question;
Can I hang a 22inch LCD screen off the projector if the projector has both an input (from laptop) and an output (for the additional screen)? The projector is approximately 5 meters away from the screen and not too high that the singers would break their necks!

The wiring should work fine. I've done similiar things.

The 22" monitor, however, may be a bit small.

Hi Joel,

Thanks. Would you recommend something along the sizes of 28 inch?

It really depends on how far the singers will be from the monitor.

One idea is to make a piece of cardboard the size of the proposed monitor, place it where you would install the monitor and see what you think.
